BOSTON -- Rep. Edward Markey of Massachusetts called on manufacturers Tuesday to remove triclosan, a chemical used in many anti-bacterial products, from soap to shoes. The substance is in hundreds of everyday products, but recent scientific studies suggest it may be harmful.
